Even though Montpelier is not as well know as Monticello, it is an amazing place to visit. We were thinking that maybe we would skip it, and I’m sure glad that we did not. We spent majority of the day there touring the grounds.
We then took a scenic drive through the countryside (imagine that), and crossed the Appalachian Mountains to the Shenandoah Valley. We then took a drive to Mt. Jackson which is were my ancestors settled before heading West.
